Sons (of Anarchy) and Daughters (of Farmers)

Doodles on the stationary from the Farmer's Daughter hotel, while watching "Sons of Anarchy." Such happy siblings.

Angry Panda

The "replay" button is really what makes Graffiti such a cool app. Yeah, I used the word "app."

I imagine there's one of these at every animation studio...

Birch Tree

Some Birch tree drawings for a vid with Danny Tieger. I didn't want to draw hundreds of leaves, so things sort of get abstract up there. It works better in the second one.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Figure Drawing at work

My place of employment offers free life drawing sessions once a week. I feel incredibly out of practice, it's not like riding a bike.

ONLY YOU

Those new Smokey the Bear ads on TV are really creepy. Does he possess people's bodies, or what? John K has some great vintage art of Smokey, including some comics where he shoots other animals. It's part of his duties as a ranger to "put them out of their misery."

UCD shirt

T-shirt design submission - even though I have no affiliation with UCD, or their psychology department.
I did this on a Wacom. It's kinda sloppy, but at the time I was just jazzed that something I did on a computer could look so hand-drawn.

Red White Blue

Some limited color pallet doodles. The blue marker started to die, which ended up letting me play with tone.

Pirate and Ninja: Meeting a Lady

My friends and I made a couple videos about a Pirate and Ninja who are college roommates. Hilarity ensues!

You can watch the latest episode on the Younger Statesmen YouTube page, or you can check out the not-so-active blog.

Three Colorful Fellows

Created with the Graffiti app on Facebook. Because I was bored at work and have a sexy Wacom.

Blues + Uke = Blukes?

I've never heard the blues played on a ukulele, but it would probably look something like this.

Sad Old Turtle

Turtles always look sad to me.

Alien

I've been having a good time drawing this guy, I should figure out something to do with him.

Squiggly Skull on THREADLESS

My Threadless.com Submission

Go vote for my Squiggly Skull shirt if you think you'd wear it! I know I'd seriously consider it if I were in your shoes.

Silent Comic Panels

These one panel comics are just begging for some captions. Go for it!

More Forest Dwellers

More creatures for a secret project. Shhh, it's totally secret.

Three Profiles

Gallery of Assorted Gentlemen

I don't always name my drawings, but I think I'll call the above gentleman "El Plátano Fantasma"

The "Kind Of" Post

Allison Janey, kind of?
David Decovney kind of? With some elder gents below? Certainly.
Tintin and Captain Haddock, kind of?

Sure, kind of looks like them.

Skull Says "Boo!"

I just started messing around with both Photoshop and a Wacom tablet, so this is a first. This drawing started as a random squiggle, and then I realized it could turn into a skull.

Slug Creature Walk Cycle

Not exactly Pixar quality, but this is my first attempt at a walk cycle using Maya. It's certainly more than I could have done at the beginning of the year. Yay college!

Senior Week Sacrifice

Remember how I was illustrating the cover for the Senior Week calendar? Well, the feedback was to make him "less cracked out," and they wanted his face to change. So here he is with his boring face. Compare it with the first drawing, and I think it's clear which is better.
However, not only are they paying me, but they're paying me much more than they should. So I guess I'll sacrifice my artistic preference for a paycheck. Something tells me this is the first of many sacrifices like that.

Cowboy Vs. Superhero RETURNS!

So I was a little bummed this image wasn't gonna be part of the poster (particularly since I'm not thrilled with the way the new poster came out), but I'm excited that this image will appear on t-shirts to be sold at Big Show!

Big Show - Super Hero

I posted a drawing earlier of a super hero battling a cowboy, but ultimately it was decided that instead of showing the competing themes, we'd have one poster per theme. So this was a bit of a rush job, since the show is really soon and we just want to get the word out. Check out the difference between the final product (above) and the thumbnail sketch (below:)
The sketch is so much better: more dynamic, more loose. The super hero in the finished drawing looks like he has a weird hunchback with a tiny arm flailing about, while the sketch looks like a solid punch-to-the-face! Luckily, I loosened up by the time I got to the villain, and I'm pretty happy with the way he turned out.
On another note, not to get sentimental or anything, but this is the last poster I'll ever make for the Ad-Libs. Therefore, that also means this is my last show with the Ad-Libs. Unless, of course, if I don't graduate...
