My friend wrote a short play entitled "Fish Bowl," and he asked if I could make a drawing for the program. But he doesn't want my ordinary cartoony style, so I did this drawing quickly today to prove to myself it's not impossible. I'm pretty happy with the fish, less happy with the bowl. Glass and water are infamously difficult, especially for someone like me who doesn't always go for realism.

Senior Week

This might become part of the cover for our "Senior Week" schedule. The theme? "Pushing the Limit!" Wooo. So I thought I'd draw a really extreme looking graduate. Below is one of the thumbnails that led to the finished drawing.

Dance Dance Dance!
The internet is like instant inspiration. Drawn pointed me in the direction of art by Michael DeForge, and I haven't stopped drawing since. I recently made a mix of dance music, and made this as a CD cover after burning it for a friend.

Cowboy vs. Superhero
Who would win?The Ad-Libs end of the semester "Big Show" is coming up, and we usually like to have some sort of theme. The group is the largest I've ever seen it (eleven people!) and we couldn't really decide, so the theme will be "competing themes." Therefore, cowboys will fight superheroes. This was an image I had kicking around in my head, and it's good to get it on paper. One of these days it will be in poster form.

Moose and Snail
This will probably be the t-shirt design for Skidmore's National Annual Comedy Festival. I've dealt with Amorous Animals before, and I think it's a pretty silly concept. Hopefully the fifteen other schools who get the shirt will think so too.

Pirate Santa, Pirate Freud, Sensible Man.

Thanks to the Graffiti application on Facebook, I've been making some weird drawings and posting them on people's walls. Here's a strange series I've started...

Ad-Libs: Seniors
From concept to editing, this video has been my baby. It was well received at our Big Show, which made me very happy, but it was a bit more sad than I intended it to be.
Truth in comedy?

I Like Moo Very Much
Moo.com knows a thing or two about business. They know that if they give out quality freebies, they'll attract a bunch of customers. I got 20 postcards made of 7-8 different art/images I've made, completely free. Although it took a while for them to arrive (they're a UK company), I love them. The images are clear and the paper is glossy and crisp. They make my images look very sexy. And for about a buck per card (plus shipping, blah), I can undoubtedly see myself getting some more made. Well done, moo.

Ad-Libs Dance Party
Check it out: the biggest head has a halo/helmet made out of the seats of congress.Freshman year I got this 1976 Government text book that the library was giving away, and I've just about used it up on various art projects.

Ad-Libs Tour: Desmond Hotel
I'm a member of The Ad-Liberal Artists (Ad-Libs), Skidmore's improv comedy group. Recently we had a gig at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, for the National College Personnel Association Convention (or something like that). This video chronicles the entire thing, from road trip to performance. It was an adventure of sorts.

Ad-Libs Bear
Part of an upcoming poster for an upcoming show. I scanned it to figure out what to do with the eyes. His eyes (and the scarf) are really the only cartoony things about him, and I like it.
The Stranger
I drew this guy on a piece of cardboard while watching Orson Welles' The Stranger. Not sure about the name of this actor, but he had a strong Peter Lorre vibe.
